As a Senior Level Process Engineer your primary responsibilities are to provide ongoing support for daily production operations. Identifying and executing enhancements to current processes and products as assigned, aligning with Corporate and customer standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing each application and project until completion, including design, installation, commissioning, and the creation of technical manuals for operation and training purposes.
- Improve reliability and productivity by identifying and developing control mechanisms.
- Enhancing plant production and dependability through the development, exploration by gathering, organizing and analyzing process data to make advancements and/or modifications to plant assets or processes.
- Plan and follow each step of all projects to successful completion, beginning with design, overseeing installations and commissioning. Additionally, you will also be responsible for scripting all technical operation and training manuals related to the equipment.
- Surveil and assess manufacturing processes on a continuous basis to ensure machinery. operations are planned and implemented in compliance with Ontario Health and Safety legislations and corporate standards.
- Ensure all commissioning and installations occur in a timely manner.
- Evolving and actioning improvements to existing processes and products meeting both customer and corporate standards and Ontario Health and Safety Legislation.
- Design new chemical procedures, machinery and improvements as well as modifying existing ones ensuring all company and engineering standards are met.
- Responsible for writing SOPS (Standard Operating Procedures) and train Operators upon start-up and integration of new systems and engage in PHR (Process Hazard Review) pertaining to operations and project safety.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot process problems and develop corrective solutions, identifying root cause failures.
- Supervise and monitor all processes against environmental regulations and performance.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Process/ Production/Chemical) P.Eng. a strong asset.
• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in petrochemical industry.
• Chemical Refining and/or Food Ingredient Process required.
• Hands on in-plant operations experience, (preferably 5-7 years in operations) required.
• Chemical Refining and/or Food Ingredient Process required.
• Process control design experience in a chemical application preferred.
• Experience in Petrochemical Process Design and Control including Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Experience in AutoCAD, or PlantCAD.
• Strong P&ID drafting skills (ISA Standard).
• Knowledge of pumping and piping systems considered an asset.
