Venor is excited to partner with ClearDynamic in their search for a Packaging and Process Engineer. ClearDynamic is proudly developing a breakthrough material with a primary application that offers safe, drug-free relief from joint pain, with the potential to offer a long-lasting treatment that can be efficiently administered in an approved clinic setting. ClearDynamic is a well-funded start-up with a bright future ahead, receiving over $900,000 from the ACOA to explore the feasibility of their pain-relief solution just this year alone.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Packaging and Process Engineer will be responsible for leading the efficient development, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes, including packaging and labeling, collaborating with a dynamic cross-functional team. Working alongside a diverse group of world-class experts, you’ll be joining a team that is committed to excellence and helping others. What you’ll be doing:
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing solutions to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce manufacturing and packaging costs.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining packaging (including labeling) and processes for a sterile medical device in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Identifying and evaluating new manufacturing technologies, tools, and equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Participating in new product development projects and providing input on process design and feasibility.
- Monitoring and analyzing process performance metrics to identify trends and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Developing and supporting equipment qualification and process validation, as needed.
- Coordinating with external stakeholders, including suppliers, to effectively support the efficient achievement of company objectives.
- Troubleshooting manufacturing issues and leading/supporting quality investigations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to ensure successful implementation of packaging and processes.
- Developing, establishing, and ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes and procedures, and providing training and support to relevant personnel.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, with a preference in mechanical, biomedical, or industrial engineering.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging and/or process engineering.
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits in USA/ Europe that can occur approximately 3 – 6 times a year.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment including assembly, process controls, logistics, and interfacing with suppliers in the development of medical devices.
- Working knowledge of selection and implementation of packaging components, systems, and testing equipment.
- Experience within the medical device industry and knowledge of FDA regulations and industry standards is considered an asset.
- Experience operating within a quality management system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities and the ability to adapt quickly and execute, particularly when gaps are identified.
