Robert Half is partnered with our client, an emerging player in the SaaS industry, in their search for an Operational Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the company's financial transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. As an Operational Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in processing financial data, maintaining records, and supporting the finance department in various financial tasks. Your expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions will contribute significantly to the overall financial health and success of our organization.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Management:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and approval procedures are followed.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve payment-related inquiries promptly.
• Prepare and execute timely payments to vendors while maximizing discounts and adhering to payment terms.
• Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date accounts payable system, ensuring easy retrieval of records for audits and inquiries.

Accounts Receivable Management

• Provide regular reports on accounts receivable aging and work with management to implement strategies for improving collections.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances, actively managing collections and addressing any overdue accounts.
• Generate and issue accurate customer invoices for products or services rendered by the company.
• Record and reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve invoicing and collection-related inquiries.

Payroll Administration

• Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Validate timesheets and employee records to calculate salaries, wages, overtime, and other payroll components.
• Reconcile payroll transactions and prepare payroll reports for management review.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, resolving issues and discrepancies promptly.
• Deduct and process payroll taxes, benefits, and other withholdings as per company policies and regulatory requirements.

General Accounting Support

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
• Contribute to financial reporting by providing accurate data and supporting schedules.
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Knowledge of local tax regulations and labor laws related to payroll is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
