As our Recruitment Assistant you will assist the HR department with the company’s recruitment processes.
Position Overview:
- Responsible for working on behalf of the client to oversee & monitor all onsite aspects of the construction project from the implementation phase through to completion. Ensures that project is completed safely, on time, on budget, and according to the contract, applicable specifications, and Scope of Work; in conjunction with the client and general contractor.
- Works with the rest of the project team to assemble an executable project plan including but not limited to finalizing the design, estimates and schedules successful execution of the project.
- Ensure that every opportunity for maximizing profitability is explored but not at the expense of safety, quality, or outside the guidelines of the corporate, client and general contractors Code of Conduct
- Day-to-day contact with general contractor on behalf of the client on all project specific matters. Ensures that all issues are dealt with and client concerns are addressed.
- In conjunction with our client provide input into all phases of the project by drawing on previous experience to help ensure that the client’s needs are fully understood and that the preliminary scope and conceptual work are directionally correct, including use of innovative alternatives.
- Provide reporting as directed by the client.
- Notices, purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment, insurance, permits and bonds as situationally required.
- Documents, prices, and implements any change requests from the client or as otherwise required on the project in conjunction with the project group.
Qualifications Needed:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle criticism and diffuse confrontational situations.
- Knowledge of all provincial OHS regulations in Western Canada.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a respectful and safe manner.
- A good understanding of basic business principles including financial, legal, and organizational aspects.
- Mechanical knowledge considered an asset
- Computer skills including Electronic Scheduling Programs (Microsoft Project), Timberline Accounting Job Cost, MS Office, AutoCAD, ability to navigate 3D model program, and project management software.
- Civil & Utilities Knowledge
- C.E.T., equivalent technical training or very strong trade/field experience and knowledge may be acceptable.
- Pleasant demeanour with an ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks while working within a team environment.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) an asset.
- Team player.
- Appropriate level of construction experience.
- Must have a genuine sense of urgency and be prepared to make decisions.
