What is the opportunity?

RBC Global Asset Management (“RBC GAM”) is a North American-based asset manager with global scope and industry-leading investment management capabilities. The RBC GAM group of companies, including Phillips, Hager & North, manage approximately CAD $250 billion (US $250B, £156B or €182B) in assets worldwide on behalf of individual, high net worth and institutional investors through mutual funds, pooled funds, hedge funds, segregated accounts and specialty investment strategies such as Liability Driven Investing and Cash Management.

This role will provide support in the day-to-day operations, valuations and reporting of the PH&N family of funds, with a focus on our specialty fund offerings. For more information, please visit: https://www.rbcgam.com/en/ca

What will you do?

• Review and prepare monthly and quarterly reports to key stakeholders
• Monitor funds daily to ensure that cash, security, and unit positions are reflected correctly. This involves completion of daily cash and bank reconciliations, and investigation and resolution of discrepancies with various parties
• Other related duties assigned.
• Assist in preparation and reviewing semi-annual and year-end financial statements including audit support, research and resolution of discrepancies

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• Good judgment and problem solving skills
• Experience in the Mutual Fund/Investment industry along with 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills
• Successful completion of a related post-secondary degree or diploma
• High attention to detail accuracy

Nice to Have

• Practical knowledge of financial products, Mutual fund operations
• Intermediate to advanced PC literacy, specifically MS Excel and Eagle Investment
• Completion of an industry related course (IFIC Mutual Funds Course or CSC) would be considered an asset.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required
