Job Title: Operations Specialist - Mutual Funds/AML & Dataphile

Duration: 6 to 9 Months (with possible extension)

Good working knowledge / experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Mutual fund and Segregated Funds administration

Work with Manager to update Desk Operating Procedures and other tasks as assigned.

Strong technical and analytical skills in running/debugging various applications and macros.

Experience within Shareholder Services or similar multi-client mutual fund administration environment

Sound knowledge of Mutual Fund and Segregated Fund taxation and compliance /regulation – including Registered Products

Sound technical and analytical skills in running/debugging various applications and macros including MS Office

Demonstrated analytical and project management skills

Be a key member of the Mutual Fund Research team that supports Advisors and Management

Contribute to the strategic management of SLFISI’s Product Shelf

Must be capable of interviewing portfolio managers effectively, leading due diligence meetings, and representing SLF.

Previous distribution or dealer experience

At least 3 years of previous experience with asset allocation and portfolio building

Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills in order to build trust

Excellent project management skills and an ability to multi-task efficiently

Review reasonableness of income/expense accruals (including management and performance fees) and facilitate payment of invoices

A minimum of 5 years of related work experience with broad knowledge of fund administration

The confidence and enthusiasm to embrace change, willing to learn new skills and software

Perform detailed oversight of our external fund administrator by reviewing NAVs on a daily basis and reconciling discrepancies

University Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

Provide customer service to hedge fund managers and investors.

Computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is an asset.

Participate in multiple system improvement projects and automation projects

Understanding of securities such as equities, bonds, forwards, futures, options.

Good communication, organization, and time management skills

Experience in the Mutual Fund/Investment industry along with 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

Practical knowledge of financial products, Mutual fund operations

• 4+ years of industry experience, working in the buy side – ideally in BA role

• Fixed income knowledge – Bonds, commodities, interest rates and credit

• Experience with some software development, like Python
