Job Title: Operations Specialist - Mutual Funds/AML & Dataphile

Duration: 6 to 9 Months (with possible extension)

Strong background and experience in Wealth Management Back/Front office process at a self-clearing institution focused on mutual funds and GICs

Strong vendor management skills - communications, organizational and self-management skills to meet assigned deliverables toward execution

Makes recommendations to Sr. management based upon in-depth understanding of the business group

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior role with similar experience and responsibilities

Strong facilitation skills and experience in the coordination of people arranging meetings, minute-taking, and project reporting skills

University education in Finance, Economics or Commerce specializing in Finance or Wealth

Good working knowledge / experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Mutual fund and Segregated Funds administration

Work with Manager to update Desk Operating Procedures and other tasks as assigned.

Strong technical and analytical skills in running/debugging various applications and macros.

Experience within Shareholder Services or similar multi-client mutual fund administration environment

Sound knowledge of Mutual Fund and Segregated Fund taxation and compliance /regulation – including Registered Products

Good communication, organization, and time management skills

Experience in the Mutual Fund/Investment industry along with 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

Good judgment and problem solving skills

Practical knowledge of financial products, Mutual fund operations

3 years of experience in Wealth management projects as a Business Analyst or Business SME

1 year of experience in Agile delivery methodology

3 years Canadian mutual funds industry experience

Assist with treasury and cash management including liquidity analysis for funding requirements;

The role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Finance for Slate Asset Management.

Liaise with asset managers regarding property operations and tenant activity to ensure the accuracy of monthly operating and cash flow statements;

Minimum 1-3 years of industry or public accounting experience;

Real estate accounting experience preferred;

Experience with Yardi reporting system and Wdesk preferred; and

Positive impact through effective management of workflow and support of team
