Product Owner/Functional Lead -Mutual Funds/Investments

Working with one of the top financial clients this role calls for a Product Owner/Functional Lead -Mutual Funds/Investments who will be responsible for working under an Agile framework within a Clearance and Settlement POD as a Functional Lead for the Mutual funds and Guaranteed Investment Certificates products stream.

Responsibilities:

• Works very closely with the Solution Consultant (SC)as the key bridge between the Delivery of PODs and the business
• Leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on the business goals
• Oversees the management of the vendor relationships as they relate to the onboarding and execution of the bring-on, testing and migration activities
• Provides strategic input to business decisions as a trusted advisor
• Obtains SME input into the solution due to the specialized nature of the specified Stream of work responsible for
• Provides feedback and signoff on User Stories created by the Bas
• Empowered to sign-off User Stories as part of the Definition of Ready (DoR) & Definition of Done (DoD) control gate
• Makes recommendations to Sr. management based upon in-depth understanding of the business group

Desired Skill Set:

• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• CSC or CFA qualification
• Knowledge of financial book of record systems such as ISM, Dataphile, Broadridge ADP
• Strong facilitation skills and experience in the coordination of people arranging meetings, minute-taking, and project reporting skills
• Product Owner or other Agile training and/or certifications
• Strong vendor management skills - communications, organizational and self-management skills to meet assigned deliverables toward execution
• Good understanding of the regulations and required reporting requirements surrounding the above products/processes
• University education in Finance, Economics or Commerce specializing in Finance or Wealth
• Good knowledge and understanding of securities such as bonds, equities, mutual funds, GICs
• Knowledge of Mutual fund and GIC systems such as RPM Term, FIS Wealthware, or other mutual fund dealer systems (FundServe and Cannex)
• Strong background and experience in Wealth Management Back/Front office process at a self-clearing institution focused on mutual funds and GICs
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior role with similar experience and responsibilities
• Ability to review user stories and identify gaps; ability to direct a team to produce the artifacts required to build new systems
