Description
We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team and oversee the production of our products in our St. Remi, Quebec plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the manufacturing process, from planning and organizing production schedules to ensuring quality control standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team. Report directly to the Plant Manager for Canada.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage the departmental budget.
- Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work.
- Safely ensures all phases of manufacturing are being performed efficiently and effectively.
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a manufacturing establishment.
- Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets.
- Ensures that product loss and scrap production are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure entire safety of all employees working in the manufacturing facility.
- Establishes, communicates and provides timely feedback to assigned workforce on objectives, goals and expectations.
- Develop production schedules and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products.
- Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.
- Ensures complete and accurate information is entered into SAP in a timely manner.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Ensures efficient use of staffing by effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging the required coverage when necessary.
- Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques. Coordinates and administers all aspects of training for new hires as well as long term associates.
- Collaborates with peers to manage and resolve workforce or labour issues and develop solutions.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to=day performance of their jobs.
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of equipment.
- Reviews and corrects information in eZlabor for timekeeping of production associates’ hours.
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant area in engineering would be an asset.
Several years of experience working at a production plant is essential.
Lean Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing experience.
Experience working within an unionized environment.
