Job Title: Manufacturing Estimator (Technical Sales Specialist)

Position Overview: The Manufacturing Estimator is responsible for preparing quotations for the company's products in response to requests from both current and prospective customers. The individual in this role is expected to act as the initial responder for customer inquiries relating to technical aspects of quotes. Their duties also involve working closely with the Engineering, Production, and Project Management Departments to provide necessary technical support to team members. Moreover, they are tasked with identifying opportunities to upsell the company's products and services where possible.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Liaises with the Engineering team for technical support as required to address customers’ requirements.
• Prepare detailed and accurate manufacturing cost estimates for projects based on materials, labour, equipment, and production timelines.
• Establishes and maintains effective professional relationships with customers.
• Review and interpret specifications and construction documents to establish customers’ needs and prepares quotations using Company price lists, programs, and tools. Follows up with customers for feedback on quotes submitted and their decision to purchase.
• Respond to technical queries from customers, sales representatives, contractors and other members of the estimating team.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to analyze clients' drawings and requests for highly specialized projects, determining the appropriate design and production feasibility before preparing a quotation.
• Liaises with outside Sales Representatives, as necessary, to follow up on quotations requested through them.
• Consult with colleagues and other professionals to resolve cost discrepancies and to obtain data on materials, production times, etc.
• Assists with the training of junior estimating team members.

Skills Requirements

Education Requirements: Completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline

Work Experience Requirement: Must have at least 3 years of related work experience in manufacturing estimation and customer-facing technical sales experience.

Skills Requirements:

·Demonstrated competence and verifiable work experience in estimating procedures and quantity takeoffs.

·Demonstrated competence and verifiable work experience in manufacturing pricing

·Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAGE and MYSIS

Salary: $61,000 CAD/annum ($31.28/hourly equivalent)

Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours per week
