Management Analytics is an integral part of CPP Investments with the objective of evaluating how we generate incremental returns and manage our existing resources. It represents a management capability that can help us, over long horizons, iteratively improve the Fund’s long-term investment performance.

The Manager, Total Fund Insights & Analysis is a key member of the Management Analytics group within Finance. The individual will be responsible for key reporting deliverables, analytics and accompanying processes with the objective of enabling senior management with financial information and analysis to continually improve long-term value-add generation. The role will require an influential voice and the development of an extensive network across the Fund in order to collaborate within and across departments to execute on accountabilities. The individual will require knowledge of financial and investment analysis concepts, combined with effective communication and project management skills.

Major Accountabilities :

• Provide an integrated, independent view of ex-post investment and business (performance, cost, and exposure) metrics from a total Fund lens, by leveraging data and cross-functional partnerships
• Lead the preparation of board and management reporting, and coordinate within and across departments to help ensure a consistent and accurate ‘story’ throughout all reports and their audiences
• Develop compelling materials to facilitate senior management discussions, and contribute to thought leadership and other major projects as required
• Support various departments’ analytical and informational needs, and serve as a primary point of contact for Management Analytics functions
• Collaborate with subject matter experts across Finance, Risk and Total Fund Management to drive integrated portfolio analysis, reporting and communication that provides board and management stakeholders with relevant information and insights
• Lead in the development and mentorship of direct reports and other junior team members, working collaboratively with colleagues in promoting a high-performance culture
• Proactively anticipate information needs based on organizational priorities, working with Finance colleagues on the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data and accessibility, including automated solutions

Qualifications

• Ability to combine a commercial approach to decision-making with an interest in understanding the details, to provide situation-tailored solutions and recommendations
• Highly organized with an ability to manage and oversee multiple deliverables simultaneously
• Exemplary critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and can navigate an information-intensive environment to derive actionable insights from analysis
• Bring a continuous improvement approach and the ability to work collaboratively to enhance existing process and develop novel approaches to execution
• Excel in a fast-paced environment, operating independently as needed with a self-motivating and purpose-driven mindset
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to leverage emotional intelligence to support effective cross-department relationships and to meet stakeholder requirements

Education And Experience

• A professional designation from a globally reputed professional body (e.g., CFA, CPA, MBA)
• 8+ years of progressive experience in a role involving financial analysis and reporting, stakeholder communication, team leadership and project management
