Job Description
What You’ll Do


We are looking for a proactive technical leader to take our store data network to the next level. The Manager, Store Data Network, reports to the Associate Vice-President, Store Hardware Platforms and is a key member of the Store Technology leadership team within Canadian Tire. This role is accountable to ensure that the store data network for Canadian Tire’s 1,700+ retail locations are current, stable, and reliable with an enterprise focus. Tasks include strategic vendor relationship management, lifecycle planning, day to day support, and the incorporation/changes to network/telephony technology as required by IT and business facing projects.


It is an exciting time for our store data network as we are currently deploying Juniper’s full-stack AI-driven enterprise solution encompassing SD-WAN, wall to wall Wi-Fi, and wired access switching. The Manager, Store Data Network will be instrumental in leveraging the new Juniper network stack to drive optimized user experiences across CTC’s network of 1,700+ retail locations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.


  • Create and maintain short and long term migration plans that include impacts of both “business as usual” growth and project dependencies.
  • Manage critical vendor relationships and managed services to deliver results.
  • Collaborate with various business areas and technology teams to determine and recommend implementation and migration strategies.
  • Manage a team of 2nd and 3rd level technology support analysts.
  • Determine and implement meaningful reporting metrics that monitor the health and capacity trending of network components.
  • Build, Deliver, and Manage network, telephony, and unified communication infrastructure in support of defined roadmaps, policies and standards.
  • Lead a diverse team of technology subject matter experts to execute network and telephony related services.
  • Work closely with service management in the development and support of key service level agreements.


What You Bring


  • Experience with capital and expense budget management.
  • Ability to commute to offices in GTA, Brampton, Oakville.
  • Proven experience providing solutions in a quick paced, fast to market (i.e. Agile) delivery environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking and telephony (both Digital and VoIP) concepts.
  • 5+ years technical experience within an infrastructure technology leadership role.
  • Strong vendor relationship skills with an emphasis in managed services to achieve SLAs.
  • University degree in Computer Science/Business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with managing geographically separated teams.


Experience with the following technologies would be considered an asset:


  • Juniper SD-WAN, MIST, and related technologies.
  • Nexus, Catalyst, and HP Data Center technologies.
  • Cisco Prime and Cisco Works.
  • Load Balancers (Cisco Ace or F5).
  • Wireless Access Points (Juniper, Cisco, Zebra, Extreme Networks).
