Job Description

We are seeking a full time Manager, People & Culture, to help us grow in a sustainable and strategic way. You’ll be leading our HR efforts, not only creating ways in which to solidify and cultivate our culture, but also helping the leadership team craft the vision for our people. In addition to these strategic imperatives, you’ll also be helping with the day to day business of running a 50+ employee company, including recruitment and retention efforts (creating job descriptions with hiring managers, posting and managing positions, phone screenings, scheduling and logistics, offer prep, career ladder formalization, HR KPIs).

We’re growing rapidly and are looking to add someone to the team with experience hiring talent for a technology startup, ideally in the health space. If you’ve recruited medical professionals before (Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietitians, virtual care coordinators, pharmacy team members) you get an extra helping of bonus points!

The pay range for this role is $60k - $85k per year and will depend on how closely your experience and qualifications match with what we're looking for. This is a role that has flexible working hours and is remote first.

Jack Health and Jill Health are Canada’s only telehealth providers specifically built for men’s and women’s health - we focus on solving health challenges that involve sexual health, fertility, hair loss, dermatology, nutrition, weight loss and more.

We insist on inclusive, diverse and passionate people to support our culture of health, data-driven performance and kindness.

You’ll report into our COO, and will primarily work with the Leadership team.

Here’s how we’ll support you:

  • Cross-functional, strategically important project participation
  • Industry networking and professional development opportunities
  • Training and professional development
  • Weekly one on ones with your manager to chat through deliverables, progress and professional development

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the first introduction of our brands to our prospective employees - your friendly professionalism and authenticity will make potential team members comfortable and excited about joining our team
  • Reviewing resumes, completing first stage phone screenings, coordinating schedules and booking interviews, then providing post conversation follow up (reference checks, rejections, clarifications and job offers)
  • Supporting the performance management process
  • Creating, with assistance from functional leads, job descriptions for open roles
  • Priming any employee manual, handbook and policy development, as well as heading up the maintenance of such documents
  • Ensuring that our diverse team feels comfortable and supported, to bring their authentic self to work and know they are welcome as they are
  • Maintaining our HR software platform (Bamboo HR): creating HR announcements, handling vacation and benefits queries, troubleshooting payroll issues with Accounting team
  • Completing contracts and job offers, as well as prepping onboarding documents as needed
  • Working closely with the leadership team to develop a hiring and development roadmap, career ladder creation, and guiding principles for our recruitment, retention and growth strategy

Ideal candidates will have at least a few of the following:

  • Minimum 5 years direct HR and recruitment experience
  • Superior ability to organize, analyze and evaluate data, both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Self-starter with ability to motivate and focus on multiple tasks and projects
  • Proactive, highly collaborative and supportive team player
  • Expert knowledge in LinkedIn Recruiter Lite, Indeed and other channels to position our roles to ideal candidates
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or innovation sectors considered a strong asset
  • CHRP/CPHR designation or completion of HR certification/courses as part of post-secondary education
  • Strong, demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with a fluency in English

We commit to providing a barrier-free recruitment process and work environment for all applicants. Please let us know of any accommodations needed so that you can bring your best self to the application process and beyond.

We encourage you to apply even if you feel your qualifications aren't enough. They likely are!
