ABOUT THE ROLE


As a part of growing the Development department, we're now looking for a Manager, Development who is willing to help leverage Power Factors and the renewable energy industry!


As a Manager, Development at Power Factors, your primary focus is the people and teams you support; ensuring that the people are growing in their role and that the team(s) are healthy and high performing.


We are an agile with a continuous improvement mindset. Our product is based on a JavaScript/Typescript/React front-end and a Cloud-hosted .NET/Python/GoLang backend. We’re in the process of moving towards a distributed, scalable, microservice architecture using cloud services.


Our product development is divided into cross-functional teams, each autonomously owning and maintaining an area of the product. They work together with their product manager to define and deliver end-to-end features that help our customers manage their renewable portfolio in a constantly changing and growing energy market.



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop your leadership skills through internal and external learning events.
  • You will be involved in your team(s) day-to-day, coordinating activities and ceremonies as needed and exerting leadership in the form and level required by them.
  • You will be the representative of your team(s) for all stakeholders and teams they need to collaborate with. (Knowing that we strongly encourage developers direct contact across teams).
  • You will have managerial responsibility for the members of your team(s). This includes, for example, having regular 1:1s and follow up on everyone’s growth and wellbeing at work.
  • Partake in the Development leadership team where you will be driving department-wide initiatives and share learnings and ideas with the other Managers, Development.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to help drive a product-led organization.
  • Actively work towards building a psychologically safe and inclusive workplace for everyone in your team(s)
  • You will be coaching one or more development teams, striving to make the team(s) become great at delivering value, working effectively together, and building high quality, modern software using Agile practices.

  • You’re proficient with Agile modern software development and have at least 3 years of experience leading/coaching software development teams.
