Junior Accountant Jobs

Job Purpose: The junior accountant assists in providing full service bookkeeping, accounting and tax preparation for our individual and small business clients.

Responsible for:

§Complete full cycle bookkeeping for small business clients

§Working papers and accounting for small business corporate tax preparation

§Personal income tax preparation

Assist periodically with any and all other aspects required by the business to service our clients as needed, i.e. answering phone calls, meeting with clients at the reception desk to sign forms, take payment from clients, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

§Solid experience with Quick Books Desktop and Excel

§Experience with personal tax preparation

§Solid understanding of the foundations of accounting

§Some experience with corporate tax would be useful

§Excellent communication skills, reliable, with a pleasant and friendly personality

§Minimum college level graduate diploma, preferably in business or accounting related programs

§Minimum of 10 years work experience in accounting or related industry

Working conditions:

§Job starts between 01 Aug and 25 Sep 2023

§Applicant must be a team member and work independently as well

§All work is completed onsite at our offices at 110 Westhunt Drive, Ottawa

§This is a full time position with flexible working hours and days except during tax season when it is all hands on deck

§Applicant must have their own transportation as there is no bus service to the office
