Our AdvanTec Manufacturing Canada facility is looking for an experienced and energetic Junior Accountant to join our Finance Department at either our Chilliwack or Langley. locations

The Junior Accountant will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the Finance department by performing daily and monthly tasks including but not limited to AP, AR, Financial Reporting and Reconciliation of Balance sheet accounts.

Essential functions for this role are:

• Post AR payment entries daily
• Process a payment to CBSA each month
• Send monthly Past Due Report to A/R insurer
• Submit quarterly revenue report for credit sales to A/R insurer
• Provide support to AR with GL coding, subledger reconciliations and other enquiries
• Submit payments in online banking
• Call customers ten days after invoices are sent to ensure they are received
• Provide support to AP with GL Coding, subledger reconciliations and other enquiries
• Adjust the order price for the shipped orders if needed
• Cut AP Cheques
• Manage credit cards and expense reporting
• Arrange employee reimbursement
• Review AP Open Payment list and receiving report
• Call customers if payments are not received on time
• Review weekly AR Aging/Cash Receipt report/AR forecast and adjust if needed. Also conduct credit review for all customers
• Arrange all prepayment requests from Purchasing team
• Call vendors and negotiate as necessary if payments are expected to be late
• Process customer credit card payments including the regular orders, invoices, and parts orders. For part orders, make sure the currency /taxes/are correct based on the ship to address
• Prepare supporting documents for filing sales taxes per US tax authority requirement
• Review the weekly Production Report and adjust if needed
• Issue manual invoices for large projects based on the information sent by the project managers. Send the issued invoices to customers and follow up the payment if it is not paid before the due date
• Prepare insurance renewal
• Process invoices and credit card statements billed by third parties

If you have the following experience, qualifications, and skills, we want to hear from you!

• Proficient with ERP systems & Microsoft Office products
• Demonstrated ability to show initiatives
• Minimum 3 years of experience in working with different areas of finance or accounting
• A passion for continuous learning
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, in particular the ability to call customers and vendors and clearly communicate with them to resolve issues
• Certificate or diploma in Accounting or Finance
• A strong sense of personal accountability and a passion for teamwork and collaboration
