Robert Half seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of a contract / contract / temporary/Contract to Permanent Inventory Analyst with one of our clients in Nanaimo, BC. This position is initially offered on a contract / contract / temporary/contract basis, with the potential for a permanent placement based on performance and business needs. As an Inventory Analyst, you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, analyzing data, and supporting inventory control initiatives. Your work will directly impact our supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations. Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement. Forecasting and Demand Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory needs based on historical data, sales projections, and market trends. Inventory Optimization: Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring sufficient stock availability to meet customer demands. Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment. Reporting: Prepare and present inventory reports, including stock levels, trends, and performance metrics, to management and relevant stakeholders. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency. System Maintenance: Maintain and update inventory management systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding inventory control, safety, and quality standards. Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members involved in inventory-related processes and systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as an inventory analyst or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful insights. Proficient in using inventory management software and advanced Excel functions. Knowledge of inventory control principles, forecasting techniques, and supply chain management concepts. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to inventory management is a plus. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
