Position Summary


Reports to the Director HR and is the leader for hiring and recruiting organization-wide. The role will work cross-functionally with internal departments, candidates, and external resources to supply talent to meet rapidly growing business needs. The Manager, Talent Acquisition brings full-cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great employees. The position develops and attracts candidates using various sources, like social media networks, online recruitment tools and employee referral programs. Ultimately, the responsibility of the Manager is to ensure NPower Canada attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline enabling the organization to meet its goals, serving as a decision maker responsible for budgeting, allocation, and strategic planning with leadership on the subject of talent acquisition and recruitment. The position may be based out of Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver. English/French bilingualism is a preferred asset.


This position is a 1-year maternity leave contract


Accountabilities


Talent Acquisition Strategy


  • Conducts environmental scans assessing available talent in the labour market and working with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers, establishes recruitment plans to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for the management of full life cycle recruitment, managing a requisition load of minimum 25+ positions in a fast-paced, outcome-oriented environment. Provides weekly activity updates to Hiring Managers on searches and reporting against agreed-upon recruiting metrics.
  • Produces and delivers reports and data related to the company’s talent pool and current employees.
  • Understands NPower Canada's business and service offerings and keeps up to date with the relevant landscape in order to attract key talent.
  • Contributes to employer branding and ensure a consistent and positive candidate experience across the brand. Seek to continuously improve every stage of the recruitment life cycle.
  • Takes a consultative and proactive approach with hiring managers to identify talent requirements, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills required to fill new and replacement roles.
  • Using workforce and TA analytics identify trends and work with the TA team on strategies to improve candidate attraction and selection.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of policies related to Talent Acquisition ensuring legislated· changes are maintained and managers and employees are educated on any amendments.
  • Meets regularly with hiring managers to establish and maintain effective relationships and to continuously stay abreast of industry impacts to business plans and talent needs.
  • Develops and executes recruiting and diversity strategies as well as attrition and retention strategies. Support and drive strategies, resources, tools, and action plans that minimize bias in recruitment and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Working with the Talent Acquisition team, ensure the talent needs of business leaders are met in accordance with service level agreements; participate in panel interviews as needed.
  • Sets the Talent Acquisition strategy in line with the company’s short and long-term business plans and objectives.
  • Provides leadership on HR governance matters related to day-to-day operations of the Talent Acquisition function in line with NPC policies and procedures.


Continuous HR Effectuation


  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned as required.
  • Collaborates with Director, HR and team to gather, review, and assess talent-relevant data, analytics, and trends in the larger assessment of compensation and benefits requirements.
  • Supports in the succession planning process by partnering with Director, HR and the business to identify high potential candidates from our internal talent pool
  • Vendor management with external partners and leads to negotiate best search rates and evaluate service levels and resource options.
  • Builds out and assesses the company’s Employment Value Proposition and work with the TA and Marketing & Communications teams to increase candidate awareness and attraction.
  • Contributes to employer branding and ensure a consistent and positive candidate experience across the bank. Seek to continuously improve every stage of the recruitment life cycle
  • Identifies, creates, develops, and integrates best-in-class, innovative solutions and strategies that lead to improvements across the HR function while balancing employee experience, operational efficiency, and department budget.
  • Carries out NPower Canada's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as part of our recruiting strategies. Constructs thorough sourcing reports to assist the team in recognizing practical sourcing channels.
  • Partners with the Director, HR for forecasting, internal talent management and job creation and evaluation, contributing to the development and execution of NPower Canada's Talent Acquisition strategy
  • Promotes NPower Canada as the best employer and destination for top talent and experts. Function as a brand ambassador for NPower Canada, educate candidates on the culture, career growth, benefits, and advantages of working for the company.


Data Collection, Reporting, and General


  • Supports and collaborates with NPower Canada staff across various program areas as needed/as appropriate/as available in order to foster a sense of team and cohesion throughout the organization.
  • Develops, document and report on participant client outcomes that are relevant to position and organizational goals. Prepare and submit monthly statistical reports, progress reports and evaluation of program results as required.
  • Leverages data and research to recommend improvements to processes, workflows, tools, system integration, optimization, and user adoption.
  • People management of Talent Acquisition team, i.e. manage, coach, and develop a team of direct reports and promote employee engagement; and establish, communicate, and measure performance objectives for the team.
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or as situation dictates.


Who You Are


  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and presentational) and interpersonal skills, leadership, management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and build trust
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Suite
  • Excellent consultative skills in recruiting support
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, HR or related field.
  • Specialized skills in negotiation.
  • Proven abilities to source passive candidates and build diverse pipelines
  • Bilingual in French and English is a preferred asset.
  • A high-level awareness of labour-market trends and current best practices pertaining to recruitment and retention
  • Highly organized, and detail-oriented to manage a high volume of work with efficiency and juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. You hold the team accountable
  • Hands-on experience with ATS, such as VidCruiter, as well as HRIS such as Dayforce.
  • Data analytics and management experience is a plus.

  • CHRP/CHRL designation is a preferred asset.
  • An active and data driven approach to problem solving; sensemaking of trends and using the insights to better processes toward efficiency
  • Have 5+ years of experience working in a talent acquisition and recruiting leader role with proven success metrics.
  • Possesses Critical Thinking and Problem Solving to consistently overcome challenges and leverage resources to creatively solve problems. You are a systems-oriented thinker with experience developing support networks across multiple agencies and can quickly adapt to an ever-evolving service
  • Experience managing, budgeting, planning, and negotiating vendor and technology agreements and implementations.
