Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB:


Canadian Mental Health Association BC Division is seeking a full-time Intake Coordinator to join our Confident Parent Thriving Kids (CPTK) Anxiety Program in Victoria. The CPTK Anxiety Program provides family-focused telephone and web-based coaching to Indigenous and non-Indigenous parents and caregivers across BC. The parent intervention will include short educational videos along with corresponding telephone coaching to help parents and caregivers develop effective skills and strategies for their children to manage anxiety symptoms and improve their functioning.


Reporting to the Intake Supervisor and working within the larger CPTK-A team, the Intake Coordinator position acts as one of the first official contacts for the program with families, assesses program eligibility based on standardized screening and other information, and helps families find additional resources where needed. The Intake Coordinator conducts and coordinates intake and exit processes with families who register with the program. This position also contributes to program monitoring and support, including data collection and data entry. The Intake Coordinator liaises with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, family physicians or other service providers as needed.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The duties and responsibilities associated with this position are described below.


• Assess appropriateness/eligibility of referrals.


• Ensure that parents, caregivers, and referral agents are served in a timely manner according to program protocols and policies.


• Ensure seamless intake processes for parents and caregivers through registration, screening, and work in collaboration with the Program Leader on coach assignments.


• Connect clients to CMHA Resources or other service providers as needed.


• Consult with supervisors when client safety concerns arise.


• Create regular reports and contribute to monitoring processes and timelines related to intake.


• Apply the Agency’s Diversity Lens and Framework for Support in all assignments associated with this role.

ABOUT YOU:


Education:


• Bachelors in psychology, social work or child and youth Care.


€¢ Minimum Of 3 Years Of Work-related Experience Required.


• An equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.


• Training in the use of standardized measures and methods and/or data analysis.


Experience:


• Relevant experience, including engagement with the public, preferably with families.


• Experience using computer programs such as MS Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.


• Familiarity with assessment tools is an asset.


• Familiarity with large data sets.


• Telephone services delivery is an asset.


Skills And Abilities


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Effective time management and coordination skills.


• Good analytic skills.


• Strong computer literacy skills.


• Knowledge of lived experiences for those with mental health conditions.


• Knowledge of cultural diversity, including Indigenous perspectives and experiences.


• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.


• Resourcefulness and innovation to solve challenges.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


• This is full-time role, and the regular work week is 37.5 hours.


• This position is located at CMHA BC Division office in downtown Victoria.


• Combination of working from home and working from office required.


• This is a unionized position with Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association and the hourly rate is $39.14 less required deductions.
