IT Administrator
We are looking for a strong IT Administrator to join our Team. The IT Administrator is directly responsible for timely and effective resolutions of any interruption to computer operations, which includes support and reporting for our ERP System (BisTrack). This will be accomplished by troubleshooting, guiding users through to issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly language and conducting end user training where necessary.
The IT Administrator is also responsible for following and enforcing the Company's IT Policies which includes but is not limited to: documenting and tracking user permissions and access; and, tracking the distribution of IT resources. The IT Administrator will be responsible for compiling and delivering concise reports regarding IT operations with sufficient expertise and detail to inform the Executive decision-making process.
The IT Administrator will be responsible for following job duties:
· Day-to-day management and maintenance of our on-site servers
· Overseeing systems development, enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems
· Providing metrics and reports to the Senior Management Team on a regular basis and to all users of telecommunication and IT services and systems (as required)
· Creating, maintaining and updating all written documentation including system and user manuals, license agreements, and the documentation of modifications and upgrades
· Ensuring the security of the network and electronic documents
· Prioritizing initiatives and projects based on Company needs
· Negotiating with vendors to establish and/or improve contracts with the Company
· Resolving software, hardware and network issues for end users
· Diagnosing and troubleshooting software, hardware and network issues for the server
· Installing, maintaining, evaluating and upgrading all computer hardware, network and software as required
· Prioritizing work orders/tickets according to request/severity
· Maintaining control records and performing daily data backups
· Performing and assisting with disaster recovery operations as required
· Assisting with capacity planning for network bandwidth, storage requirements, and other applications
· Monitoring network usage including email, web navigation, software installation, etc.
· Coordinating timely repairs of IT equipment covered by third party vendor maintenance agreements (e.g., ERP, photocopier, security system, etc.)
· Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and approachability
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
· College or University Degree preferred (or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience)
· 3-5 years of direct experience in an IT support capacity
· Ability to diagnose problems, perform reports on IT assets, and provide support for a wide range of applications
· Ability to analyze issues quickly and to determine the best course of action using available resources
· Ability to use sound judgement to escalate issues to the Direct Manager
· Willingness to participate in ongoing training as required as well as the demonstrated ability to research new technologies
· Knowledge of IT management software tools
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and the ability to train others as required
· Strong customer service mindset
· Team player with the ability to work under pressure in a rapidly-changing workplace
· Excellent written, oral and listening communication skills
· Ability to communicate IT-related matters in user-friendly language
· Knowledge of and competency with setting up computer workstations
· Exceptional multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills
· Previous Exchange, SQL, Crystal Reporting, Great Plains and Powershell experience would be considered an asset
· Programming experience would be considered an asset
