Hiring for Business Systems Support Analyst position. Must-Have Skills/Experience: We are looking for more of a developer turned BSA, that has attention to detail and has experience in a production support environment, should be able to read code and dig into systems and query data, would have experience in navigating and debugging Mainframe screens/applications and querying and analyzing DB2.
About the Job: Brainhunter Systems Ltd. is currently seeking Business Systems Support Analyst to work with one of our valued clients.
- Remote-Work Options: Hybrid work model - 1 day per week in the office required.
- Job Duration: Initial contract of 6 months, with good possibilities for further extension.
- Job Role/Title: Business Systems Support Analyst
- Job Location: Toronto, ON / London, ON / Winnipeg, MB; locations.
Required Experience and Qualifications for this Role
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and strong communication at all business levels, with the ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a dynamic environment.
- Backgrounds in certain technologies depending on the project and role requirements
- Excellent organization and high attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
- A degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3+ years of solid business systems analysis experience in Financial Services (financial/billing, products, administration, or production support), ideally with a specific Group Benefits domain.
- Excellent facilitation and influencing skills, including the ability to work effectively across a large organization and develop strong cross-functional relationships
- Strong core business analysis competencies and interpersonal skills, with a constant drive for improvement.
- Practical experience in the Agile delivery approach.
Key Skillset or Ideal Candidate for this Role
- Exposure to Agile product management and content management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience creating gap analysis documents and/or business cases
- CA Workload Automation knowledge.
- A background in software or test engineering, with an understanding of SDLC methodologies and practices.
- Exposure to and understanding of Agile scrum, Kanban, and scrumban methodologies and experience working in SAFe.
- ServiceNow / JIRA / other workflow tools.
- Experience in group benefits financial/billing, products, administration, and production support
- DB2 and Mainframe knowledge.
- Data analytic knowledge.
- SQL query skills.
Role/
- Analyze potential value and recommend solutions; through a clear understanding of the business opportunity and objectives, assess the value that can be generated from the solution options and provide a recommendation to the key stakeholders.
- Assist in testing; review and assist the business and development teams in test strategy and acceptance criteria development and execution of in-sprint testing to ensure the solutions are built to meet business and product owner satisfaction (Definition of Done).
- Define business solution options; identify, explore, and describe the solutions (not architectural or technical) that would achieve the business need.
- Validate requirements against business objectives; ensure that the requirements or designs deliver business value and directly support business objectives and goals and ensure that we are using Human Centered Design principles to drive to this outcome.
- Keeping aligned with our various Audit and Operational Risk Management standards
- Work collaboratively; multi-cultural, multi-location teams, and cross-functional working with teams from other business areas.
- Provide system/application support to our business partners and DevOps squads to debug or troubleshoot sophisticated application issues (both daytime and on-call support)
- Focus on the customers; determine all requirements, solution designs, and business value assessments from a customer perspective.
- Remain current on standards, technologies, approaches, and methodologies
- Building a positive relationship with the many business partners/users, Dev-Ops squads, and other IT groups to uncover struggles and opportunities to deliver new business value through software
- Facilitate transition and change; assist in the identification of the transition journey from current to target state, and the change management activities/focus areas to enable successful adoption of solutions.
- Elicit and model business requirements/epics and assist with user stories/tasks; using appropriate analysis techniques, understand and describe the business needs in a structure and level of detail that is usable by the stakeholders.
- Focus on quality; make sure all outputs are of high quality and consistency, presented through the defined templates, models, and frameworks of the team.
- Be part of initiatives to develop and improve standards and methodologies.
- Conduct business process re-engineering, using appropriate analysis techniques, and understand and describe the as-is and to-be processes whilst analyzing the impact on people, processes, and systems.
- Be involved in development; serve as an escalation point for requirement queries and clarifications from design, build, and testing teams.
- Maintain high-quality software, with accountability for production availability, reliability, and usage taking a well-rounded view of system health.
- Deliver through Agile methodologies; through experience working with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence), participate in sprints, retrospectives, demos, and backlog grooming, and work with product owners for prioritization.
