Business Analyst - Intermediate

BUSINESS ANALYST

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Business Analyst to work on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead the elicitation, elaboration, analysis and validation of business requirements and data needs.
• Provide a comprehensive range of I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technological needs.
• Plan and facilitates workshops to gather requirements and create user stories.
• Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
• Review and provide feedback of technical design documents.
• Conduct feasibility analysis, scoping and provide work estimates on user stories.
• Conducts product walkthroughs / demonstrations at the end of each sprint cycle.
• Analyze and map processes / data for current state and future state.
• Provide support during the design, implementation and testing phases of the project.
• Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, best practices and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice within the organization.
• Works with the developers to align business requirements with solution capabilities.
• Report progress on deliverables on a regular basis at stand-ups, and other team meetings as required.
• Analyze business requirements to identify solution options or improvements.
• Conduct Joint Requirements Planning and Joint Application Design sessions.
• Supports the product manager and product owner to refine and groom the product backlog.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have expert knowledge/experience creating business process maps/diagrams.
• Experience with a wide range of methods, tools and techniques for business analysis such as: business functional modelling, business event modelling, business process mapping.
• Must have atleast 4 years of experience in writing detailed user stories.
• Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
• Experience in structured, object oriented and agile methodologies for user requirements.
• Must have experience with documenting deliverables (Functional and Non-functional requirements, System Requirements Specifications, Business requirements / rules, Business Process Models, Data Requirements / Models (conceptual / logical), Risks and Issues, Business and System Use Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Status Reports, Test Plan / Strategies, Test Cases etc.).
• Demonstrated experience with JAD/Sprint session facilitation and the ability to translate business needs to technical requirements.
• Experience developing performance measures for business analysis evaluation and subsequent follow-up.
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
• Ability to translate business and data requirements into specifications sufficient for designing appropriate technology solutions.
