Senior Information Technology Business Systems Analyst

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg. This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate will be required to be in office approximately 2 days per week.

Your Purpose at Canada Life:

As a member of the Canadian Technology Team, you will help us maintain and operate our recent implementation of SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL), as well as legacy SAP ECC, including continuing to build further enhancements and functionality from that foundation. In this role you will work collaboratively with accountants, actuaries, and source system teams to understand data input and journaling requirements and help design, develop, and deploy subledger configuration at regular intervals. Ways you contribute:

• Validate journal entry postings in the subledger against expectations.
• Interpret master data and transaction inputs and accounting journaling requirements.
• Produce functional and technical design for configuring FPSL and ECC.
• Work with business partners to resolve FPSL and ECC processing issues, problems and/or enhancements.
• Support financial daily, monthly, quarterly and year end activities.
• Provide innovative and creative solutions that achieve quality and process improvements.

Primary Qualifications:

• Experience with business process re-engineering and documentation.
• Participation in at least one SAP implementation project.
• 4+ years overall SAP experience including hands-on configuration.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to own the role and provide deep functional expertise of system capabilities.
• Strong ability to produce detailed documentation.
• Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Experience performing unit and functional testing of designs.
• Experience translating business needs into clear designs and produce high-quality builds.
• Experience articulating functionality of systems to business and IT teams at various levels.

Skills considered an asset:

• Basic understanding of IFRS17 concepts.
• Accounting or Finance designation
• Experience in SAP S/4 HANA.
• Experience in SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO).
• Experience in SAP FPSL, Insurance Analyzer or Bank Analyzer.
