Job Description

Requirement Summary

  • Remote-Work Options: Hybrid work model - 1 day per week in the office required.
  • Job Locations: We have active requirements in Toronto, ON / London, ON / Winnipeg, MB; locations.
  • Job Role/Title: Technical Support Specialist
  • Project Duration: Initial contract of 6 months, with good possibilities of further extension.


Key-Skillset/Ideal Candidate for this Role

  • 3+ years of technical experience in system implementation following industry standards for relevant technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Citrix Licensing.
  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • 3+ years of technical experience installing operating systems, third-party software installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and GPO (Group Policy Object).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform systems analysis to resolve performance and capacity issues, and optimal use of infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of operational experience in supporting Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop 6.5, 7.6, or higher.
  • Strong understanding of Windows system security.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Citrix and/or Microsoft-related IT certification.
  • Good knowledge of PowerShell.
  • 3+ years of troubleshooting software/application issues with operating systems or third-party products.

Role / Job Summary: The Intermediate Technical Support Specialist will be performing the major functions listed below. The position may require additional duties/responsibilities that may not be outlined below, and specific functions are subject to change.

  • Enforce standards to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Be available for on-call support (rotational basis).
  • Document the different activities and procedures according to established standards.
  • Participate in disaster recovery tests.
  • Handle service requests, incidents, and change requests.
  • Ensure infrastructure in disaster recovery sites is healthy.
  • Develop, implement, support, and document automation for more effective systems support.
  • Participate in various infrastructure improvement projects and business development projects.
  • Participate in problem resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with the other Citrix Administrators and the other Infrastructure teams
  • Ensure appropriate reliability of the technology and operating systems to meet current service level agreements and future business needs.
  • Be available for changes outside normal office hours.
  • Participate in patch management, configuration management, and upgrades according to security standards.
