Key Responsibilities:

  • Time & Attendance; ensure accuracy of all timecards, deadlines are met and overtime rules are followed by all employees within British Columbia (training new employees on how to use the ADP WFN system)
  • Ensure company operates in accordance with all applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and other provincial legislation in which UNIQLO currently conducts business in
  • Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of new policies, programs and initiatives including delivering training programs
  • Oversee meetings of the stores JHSC's
  • Additional duties as required
  • Assist in supporting store staff and store managers with HR related matters
  • Perform administrative functions including preparing reports, letters, presentations and other administrative tasks as requested
  • Support the recruitment process when hiring new store associates
  • Ensure employee records are complete and accurate in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Continuously review and implement the current policies as necessary for better talent management
  • Employee relations; answer questions on policies, procedures/programs and benefits, assist with grievances and employee discipline
  • Support with regional organization planning; create and monitor progress of development plan with area manager and HR Manager
  • Sit as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Onboard new employees by conducting new hire orientation, process paperwork, ensure employees are enrolled in our HRIS/store systems, and follow up with Payroll, Store Managers, and HR members to ensure employee onboarding is completed


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Ability to operate with high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of British Columbia's Employment Standards Acts, REQUIRED; knowledge of Ontario, Alberta and Quebec's employment legislation would be considered a strong asset
  • Must be willing and able to travel to stores regularly in the Greater Vancouver Area (BC)
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
  • Keen eye for detail coupled with strong organizational skills
  • 3-5 years in previous human resource experience required
  • Post secondary education in field of Human Resources strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Able to work with global teams and global time zones
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products, as well as G-Suite products
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written (English); French language proficiency considered an asset
