STELIA North America, an affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, is a recognized leader in the design, analysis, and development of advanced composite structures for the aeronautic, defense and space markets. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 180,000 sq feet of facilities that are focused on composite, metal or hybrid sub-assemblies for major aeronautical players and innovating global solutions.


Role Description

Reporting to the Director of HR, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) works closely with a designated group of business units to design, develop and deliver of a wide variety of people programs and strategies. The HRBP is improvement focused - working continuously to find process efficiencies and ways to technology-enable HR programs. Unique to this position, this HR Business Partner will be responsible to deliver on the internal communications strategy and plan, including the facilitation of the translation of all current forms and HR Policies into both official languages. They positively influence both the employee experience and the organizational culture, focusing on maintaining a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all.


In this role, you will:

  • Support leaders in effective talent & performance development with a keen focus on supporting and developing employees to achieve their career aspirations; Build external partnerships to identify, develop and attract emerging talent streams.
  • Coach and guide leaders in the areas of employee development, performance and talent management, attendance support, engagement & retention, culture & belonging, and total rewards & recognition.
  • Administer, interpret, and provide advice on policies, practices, and procedures as well as participate in administration of corporate initiatives and strategies; Mitigate risks for the organization by providing advice on employment regulations and actions, coach & positively influence a leaders’ course of action in high impact situations.
  • Ensure an equitable, attractive and consistently implemented rewards & recognition strategy, preparing compensation recommendations that achieve internal parity and competitiveness within the designed framework.
  • Foster an organizational culture where each employee feels we belong, one where we feel included and respected each day. Guide the organization to ensure we recognize the value of diverse perspectives in building a workplace where we all can reach our full potential.
  • Effectively implement the communications plan. Prepare internal and external communications in both English and French.
  • Provide recommendations on continuous improvement activities and recommend efficiencies in the way we work.
  • Assist in the development of a strong employer brand by communicating an engaging value proposition and organizational culture across multiple channels.
  • Act as back up for payroll processing functions and other ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Be a true generalist, partnering with business unit leaders to deliver on all people programs & strategies in the designed business units.
  • Lead the talent acquisition process including sourcing, selection, onboarding and orientation of new employees.


You have:

  • Bilingualism in both French and English is preferred.
  • High attention to detail supplemented by a focus on using key details and data to inform decisions and recommendations
  • Well-developed communication skills that show up as an ability navigate difficult conversations as well as effectively communicate with all levels within an organization
  • A professional HR designation (CPHR), or are working towards achieving one.
  • The highest degree of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated that you are a dedicated team player with initiative and autonomy
  • An ability to work well under pressure, in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
  • 7-10 years of experience working in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Business savvy and feel equally comfortable in both a manufacturing and professional environment
  • Completed of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
  • Strong technology skills with proficiency in HR information systems and a variety of Social Media platforms; experience using ADP Workforce Now is an asset
