Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results driven Human Resources Business Partner for our crown corporation client located in the Durham region.


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the HRBP will be responsible for developing business solutions to HR issues and providing guidance and strategic advice in a wide range of HR related topics including workforce planning, employee relations, labour relations, succession planning, ED&I, and more.


This is a HYBRID opportunity requiring 3 days on site (in Durham region with occasional travel to downtown Toronto) and 2 days work from home.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into integrated HR solutions, providing strategic advice to leadership across various levels in the organization
  • Partner with internal HR CoEs to advance employee capabilities, to support the delivery of key performance measures aligned with organization’s strategic direction and initiatives;
  • Coach, consult and collaborate with assigned business units to ensure business and resource objectives are met while aligning HR’s functional strategy;
  • Partner with Talent Management CoE to provide line management with advice and services related to the broad range of talent management activities including workforce planning, performance measurement, succession planning and leadership development;
  • Partner with Labour Relations and Ethics & Equity CoE to advise people leaders on collective agreements and employee relations matters and mediations and arbitrations
  • Provide advice and guidance in change management, organizational design, job evaluation, compensation, and talent solutions, including related policies and procedures;
  • Utilize HR data to identify and report on trends and emerging issues.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and operational support on a wide range of HR matters
  • Minimum 6-10 years of progressive HR experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HR Consultant, HR Generalist, HR Advisor, HR Manager, or HRBP
  • Strong labour or employee relations experience
