The company has an opening at its sterile injectable manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ontario, for a Junior Human Resources Business Partner.


Job Summary


The position of Junior Human Resources Business Partner is accountable to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner and will support a few departments end to end coupled with supporting the HR Business Partner team on a broad range of duties including attendance management, discipline issuance, orientation delivery, investigations, and positive employee relations initiatives. This role will interface with all levels of staff and leadership and will require strong time management, priority setting, diplomacy and the ability to manage confidential information.


Responsibilities


▪ Execute a consistent and engaging employee onboarding process, emphasizing our culture, workplace practices and philosophy.


▪ Act as a support to the HR Business Partner(s):


  • Support the attendance management process by reviewing absence overviews, generating attendance counseling, and providing coaching recommendations.
  • Support employee relations activities including drafting progressive discipline and attendance memos.
  • Partner with HR Business Partner(s) to conduct investigations, make recommendations and assess impact.
  • Provide employment status administrative support to the HR Business Partners including contract ends, contract extensions, managing expiring work permits, etc. Ensure documentation is generated and trackers have been updated as necessary.


▪ Support positive employee relation initiatives including presence in production and across the campus, new hire touchpoints, buddy program support, etc.


▪ Support the administration of HR related programs such as rollout communication, completion status and feedback synthesis. Provide support to assigned department(s) including:


  • Guidance on headcount planning and internal recruitment practices.
  • Talent management and development recommendations.
  • Partnering on engagement and retention activities.


▪ Support HR projects as required to ensure continuous improvement of programs.


▪ Support the co-op student hiring process and their onboarding experience


▪ Provide backup support and coverage for the HR Coordinator in the event of an absence or vacation:


  • Maintain and update employee changes in HR systems (Spirit, Employee Change Forms, etc.)
  • Update HR trackers (attrition date, onboarding hires, recognition, etc.)
  • Coordinate and respond to questions related to our HR programs (Safety Shoes, Medicals, Safety Glasses, Service Awards, etc.)
  • Provide administrative support for employment status requests (confirmation of employment letters, resignation processing, shift change letters, etc.)


▪ Complies with GMP guidelines.


▪ Observe and support all safety guidelines and regulations.


▪ Responsible for completing all other duties as assigned and in compliance with policies and procedures.


▪ Work harmoniously with all fellow employees, maintaining confidentiality as appropriate in the context of the business environment.


Qualifications


Education


  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation or actively pursuing is an asset.


Experience


  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in all areas of HR
  • Keen understanding of Employment Legislation both Provincial and Federal.
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on commitments within tight timelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Previous involvement in Employee Relations investigations and implementation of disciplinary action.
  • Must be able to attend all shifts.
  • High levels of integrity, diplomacy, and tact, with an ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability build relationships
  • Demonstrated initiative in responding to urgent matters.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years Human Resources experience in a Generalist role providing end to end HR support to various business units and their teams
  • Knowledge of Group Benefits claims management
