Head Of Enterprise Risk Management

WinnerMax Capital Inc. is a well capitalized private company located in Toronto seeking global investment opportunities including alternative investments such as private equity, real estate, and hedge funds. The Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) role directly reports to the Chief Risk Officer. This role will oversee the enterprise risk management of WinnerMax Capital as well as its affiliated companies in Toronto.

Accountabilities:

• Supports Senior Management and the Board in ensuring that risks are mitigated to the desired level.
• Ensures that Managers at all levels are performing their desired role as per the ERM Framework.
• Represents the main change agent for the implementation and continuous improvement of the ERM system.
• Delineates the specific roles and responsibilities pertaining to risk taking versus risk monitoring.
• Assist the Board and Senior Management in balancing the organization’s risk taking ability with its approved Risk Appetite to protect as well as enhance Corporate Value.
• Provides direction for the allocation of resources for Risk Management. Ensures that appropriate Risk Owners are designated.
• Ensures that Risk Management is guided by its Vision, Mission, Philosophy, Objectives and Policies.
• Provides assurance that communication plan for Risk Management are both coherent and capably executed.
• Establish appropriate ERF framework including risk policies, metrics, reporting and monitoring. Facilitate the execution of ERM Framework.
• Ensures that the Risk Management Framework facilitates continuous improvement of organization’s capabilities for management of its top priority risks.

Requirements:

Must haves:

• Skilled in analysis and review of reports and making presentations to Senior Management.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Possesses refined communication skills and advanced speaking capabilities in English.
• A senior executive with 15+ years of experience in Risk Management in Financial Industry
• Capability to summaries and interpret risk reports from different Departments.
• Ability to work with all level of management.
• Can effectively analyze significant amount of data information and filter it to key points helping management to analyze risks.
• Ability to write / revise policies and guidelines and maintain Risk Register.
• To freely interact with multicultural workforce; and with strong influencing, organization, leadership and negotiating skills.
• Strong presence and can interact with senior management.
• To have excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Be able to organize and motivate others, who in some cases may be in a more senior position.
• Able to think strategically. To possess the authority to monitor the performance of Risk Owners.
• Ability to quickly understand the various functional / departmental requirements.

Nice to have:

• Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin is preferred.
• Master’s degree is desirable.
• CFA designation is a plus.
