Head Of Fleet Management (F/M/D)

This brownfield project will significantly enhance the service delivery proposition for riders across Toronto and surrounding areas and will ensure a long-lasting sustainable economic, environmental, and lifestyle contribute to its current and longer-term societal needs. We are looking for experienced candidates to join us as Head of Fleet Management.

Your responsibilities:

• Review and establish regimes to monitor compliance with all operation & maintenance standards and applicable rail industry standards
• Apply continuous improvement techniques to analyze technical and organizational shortcomings in the maintenance and provision of rolling stock and resolve them
• Ensure that a well-maintained fleet of railway cars is provided for passenger railway operations of the company
• Manage the financial plan for the fleet (O&M) incl. the procurement contracts
• Liaise with Train Service Planning to ensure the provision of fleet to support the service and whilst managing maintenance requirements and long term asset management.
• Improve and implement a standardized, system-supported process for handling efficient maintenance and cleaning of rolling stock and their components to achieve agreed levels of performance, reliability, and availability of equipment
• Manage the fleet maintenance lifecycle and maximize utilization of the rolling stock
• Lead teams providing the technical and commercial controlling of sub-contractor maintenance in depots and work with other teams implement measures to improve the fleet efficiency and performance.
• Lead direct, steer, and monitor the performance of the fleet management teams and their reports
• Lead the fleet management unit to ensure the provision of rolling stock targets and objectives for immediate reports and the organization benchmark levels
• Responsible for achieving the highest level of safety and sustainability by executing regular and ad-hoc safety audits

Your profile:

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration and PMP (Project Management Professional) is an asset
• Residency in Canada
• At least 15 years of professional experience with rail fleet management at a rolling stock manufacturer or a maintenance company; at least 10 years of experience in a leadership position
• Knowledge and extensive experience in repair and maintenance of diesel and fuel engines, and train electrical and mechanical systems; experience with electric locomotives is an asset
• Manage and interface with the client and the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers
• Demonstrate leadership and working with a multinational team,
• Fluency in English
• Excellent organization and planning
• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a combination of education, training and experience with technical competence with applicable technical repairs and maintenance processes is required
