General Accountant ( Recent Graduate)

The General Accountant, under the direction of the Accounting Manager ensures the completion of accounting activities as they relate to the National Development Centre (NDC) and the support of Branch Offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the supplier setup process and liaise with stakeholders as necessary
• Lead and/or assist with internal project expenditure analysis
• Assist in the development of reporting requirements as requested by Corporate Managers
• Manage the end-to-end bank reconciliation process for multiple entities and follow up on any discrepancies arising
• Contribute to implementing projects and process improvements in the department
• Support the transition of acquisitions and expansion in the business
• Assist with the implementation and enhancement of month-end closing procedures
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
• Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
• Manage the intercompany reconciliation and settlement process
• Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
• Provide assistance to branch enquiries concerning their financial results
• Act as a supporting contact and work with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Planning & Analysis and payroll departments as required
• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
• Prepare and post various P&L accrual and adjusting entries

Work Location : Mississauga ( Hybrid ) 2 days onsite, 3 days remote weekly

Education

Post-secondary Degree or Diploma. Pursuing CPA accounting designation

Experience

One to two years of related accounting experience; a proven track record in balance sheet analysis and spreadsheet usage; strong working knowledge of Excel and Power Point
