As an RBC Investment and Retirement Planner, you develop relationships with and create custom investment solutions for prospective and existing RBC clients. Alongside your own prospecting and networking activity, you are fully supported by internal partners who send client referrals your way. What will you do?


  • Develop external business referral sources through networking, marketing, and your centers of influence
  • Provide tailor-made financial planning advice and solutions using our unparalleled array of investment and portfolio solutions, including best-in-class proprietary and select third-party mutual fund solutions
  • Connect clients with the right RBC team members to help continuously meet their needs
  • Acquire and consolidate existing and new-to-RBC clients and assets


What do you need to succeed?


Must-have


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial planning
  • Proven networking and client acquisition skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong partner relationships
  • Mutual Funds License (IFIC or CSC)
  • Financial Planning Designation (PFP or CFP)

Manager, Finance - IS Performance Management



The Manager, Finance role of Investor Services (‘IS’) Performance Management forms a key part of the IS Finance team and will be responsible for the execution of performance management deliverables, as well as business partnering responsibilities. The position will be responsible for providing business finance advisory support for the Investor Services businesses. This includes driving key analytics and reporting, providing input, and tracking the Business Plan and Forecast while acting as a best-in-class PM team member. You will be expected to demonstrate strong collaboration with partners across Investor Services, IT, PMO, and Functions, whilst supporting an owner-operator mindset, focus on return on investment, cost transparency, partner enablement, and data-driven decision-making culture. The role will be to support month-end analysis and benchmarking activities as a liaison to cross-functional stakeholders ensuring key expense analysis and variance explanations are provided to business and finance partners.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Leverage best practices to simplify and streamline processes and deliverables.
  • Ensure Product Profitability reporting processes are supported and provide a meaningful view of; allocated NIE and Revenues, as well as profitability metrics, and NIE variances.
  • Responsible for delivery of monthly management reporting and commentary, and formal budget updates annual detailed plan/budget, and the 5-year outlook in line with enterprise timelines.
  • Ensure that key business strategies and initiatives are well understood, supported, and embedded into financial reports, including tracking of benefits versus business case targets.
  • Enhance financial advice to business partners, shifting the balance from Steward / Operator to Strategist / Catalyst with a focus on cost transparency, enhanced analytics, and decision support.
  • Responsible for the provision of financial advisory support to Investor Services business stakeholders to enable timely business decisions, strategic planning, forecasting, and analytics.
  • Leveraging business knowledge, and experience to be a valued, strategic partner/advisor as a member of the CFO Group.
  • Accountable for the delivery of monthly and quarterly performance management reporting, including key metrics, insightful commentary, while constructively challenging assumptions and escalation of issues/key trends.
  • Acts as an “agent for change” and a “challenger of the status quo” in line with wider Finance transformation initiatives.


MUST HAVE


  • An awareness of the Regulatory Environment, and the difference in requirements between management and legal entity reporting
  • Accounting designation or equivalent degree with post qualification experience of at least 3 years
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster and cultivate financial opportunities and partnerships
  • Experience within Financial Services
  • Experience within Business facing Finance roles
