Facility Operator| Mattamy Athletic Centre

This is an entry-level position in the field of building operations suited for recent graduates and individuals looking to pursue a career in the sports and entertainment industry. The right candidate will be expected to learn on the job and grow with the company.

This role will pay a salary of $23.08 to $25.48.

• Assist with custodial duties including cleaning and disinfecting washroom and change room areas, as well as vacuuming and sweeping meeting rooms and office areas
• Work alongside conversion crew during event set ups and tear downs
• Operate and respond to building automation systems including alarms
• Maintain the exterior of the building including snow and debris removal
• Change light bulbs, batteries, and perform minor repairs as necessary
• Properly inspect, maintain, and operate building equipment including ice resurfacing machines, forklifts, building automation systems, and personnel lifts - Training will be provided
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all written policies, applicable government codes, and regulations
• Work with external clients in the preparation, execution, and tear down of events.
• Contribute to the overall operations of the entire venue.
• Respond to on site assistance requests from rental clients

• Excellent time management skills and an ongoing awareness of client satisfaction
• Experience with power tools is considered an asset
• A self-starter with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work within a team environment
• Willingness to work regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, plus an understanding of the physical nature of the work
• Previous experience in an arena or recreation facility is considered an asset
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory
• Knowledge of ice arena / court maintenance is considered an asset. Training will be provided
