Job Description
Facility Operator $41 -$43/hr - Selkirk, MB
Are you a physically fit individual who's able to stand for long periods of time during a 12-hour shift
Do you have experience operating and maintaining systems and equipment including, compressed air, high & low-pressure gases, heating and cooling systems, etc?
Are you a class 3 Power Engineer familiar with working in manufacturing environments?

Permanent Position
Schedule: Continental - 12 hr shifts - 2 days on 2 days off, with a 3-day weekend every other week
Salary: $41 - $43 per hour

Responsibilities
As an Operating Engineer in this manufacturing facility, a normal day would include:
  • Perform mandatory shift rounds and site inspections
  • Records water, chemical & fuel consumption
  • Test, document, treat, maintain, repair, and control potable, process, and wastewater systems
  • Troubleshoots using testing equipment and own judgment based on knowledge of equipment
  • Report deficiencies and potential deficiencies to upper management as per provincial and federal regulations
  • Reserves and orders parts for maintenance work
  • Test, inspect, maintain and repair high-temperature gas burners
  • Remove, clean and inspect air filters on HVAC systems when required
  • Coordinates work with other trades
  • Works in shop or field as required
  • Check and maintain plant fire suppression systems, hydrants, PIV and piping, water tower, process water lagoons
  • Install, operate, inspect, repair, and maintain pumps, compressors, piping, plumbing, valves, furnace auxiliary equipment, heating & cooling units
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain deep well pumping stations, recirculation units, chlorinators, and water softeners
  • Keeps immediate working area clean and observes all safety rules
  • Interprets blueprints, makes sketches and calculations as required
  • Record and repair defects in tools and equipment
  • Creates and receives work orders and inspections for maintenance work required
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
  • 2+ years experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Possesses strong communication skills, strong math ability, and a good work ethic
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule (continental style schedule); 12-hour shifts
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, use a wide variety of tools, and possess an eagerness to learn
  • Class 3 power engineer certification
