What You Will Do
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Peer Assisted Learning Support Office and the Math and Writing Centre operations and programs within Student Learning Services (SLS). In particular, the Facilitator will oversee the Learning Skills Workshop Series at the North, IGS and Lakeshore Campuses. This includes the recruitment, training, and supervision of student leaders (Peer Learning Coaches) to run workshops. The Learning Support Facilitator will assist with learner access to Notetaking Services at the Lakeshore Campus in collaboration with the Learning Strategist. In addition, the incumbent will support students to access Peer Tutoring and the Math & Writing Centre services by working closely with the Learning Services Coordinators for Peer Tutoring and the Math and Writing Centres to ensure smooth delivery of programs and services. The Learning Support Facilitator will work collaboratively with various Humber departments and stakeholders to promote, increase access to, and ensure equitable and inclusive practices within, the relevant areas of their portfolio. Support for programming at the North Campus and International Graduate School will be on an as-needed basis.

What You Bring To The Role
  • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with marketing and strategic promotion of events/programmings
  • A minimum of one year experience working with post-secondary students and youth, particularly those with disabilities
  • The successful candidate will possess a 3-year College Diploma.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with many demands on time; strong time management skills
  • Strong teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and partners in service delivery
  • A strong understanding of how to work from and implement an anti-oppressive, EDI framework in their daily work and relationships
  • Experience with leading and supervising student staff;
  • Understanding of best practices for program assessment and evaluations
  • Strong aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite; comfort with learning new software
