Job Description

Applications are currently being accepted for a Temporary Full Time Executive Assistant for the Walkerton site of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC).

This temporary position is not to exceed May 2025.If the position is going to end prior to May 2025 or exceed May 2025 two weeks’ notice will be provided.

Position Summary:

The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the President & CEO, Board Chair, Board of Directors, Chief of Staff, and other members of the Senior Leadership team.The Executive Assistant provides a focal point for the coordination of the Senior Leadership Team, as well as serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters relating to the office of the President & CEO.The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise sound judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, organizational and time management skills.The candidate will anticipate and take appropriate action as required, with the ability to manage demanding calendars and email volumes.The Executive Assistant will have superior customer service and interpersonal skills to represent Hospital Leadership in a positive and professional manner.Success in this position requires a dedicated professional that has a strong understanding of board governance, procedures, protocol, diplomacy and confidentiality. The ability to work flexible hours to support meetings is required.


Positions Qualifications & Prerequisites:

  • Advanced level computer skills including ability in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet based applications, to be tested
  • Respect for confidentiality and knowledge of all relevant privacy legislation including an understanding of PHIPA, FIPPA, FOI
  • Experience in office management and information co-ordination
  • Ability to travel to other sites and work flexible hours as required
  • Keyboarding skills minimum 60 words per minute, to be tested
  • Demonstrated ability to take accurate, effective and timely minutes
  • Effective logistic and time management skills to manage demanding calendars
  • Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of board governance and board practices
  • Minimum five years administrative support experience with at least 2 years working in a senior administrative support role
  • Ability to develop reports, presentations, and draft correspondence
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally
  • Successful completion of an university undergraduate degree, and/or post-secondary office administration/business diploma college program
  • Adherence to SBGHC’s Core values, policies and procedures, Occupational Health & Safety and Infection Control practices and principles.Advocates and supports SBGHC’s culture of patient safety
  • Excellent communications skills to effectively deal with the public, executives from other hospitals, community partners, Board members, staff and management at SBGHC
