Dillon’s Environmental Sciences technical group is looking a Team Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be engaged in the management of workflow, support the growth and development of technical skills of those in your team, and work on new and exciting geoscience projects across Ontario.
At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available in any one of our Ontario offices.

Responsibilities
What your day will look like
People Management
  • Accountable for ensuring effective feedback is occurring within the team.
  • Manage capacity of operating teams to meet the business needs, including the addition of capacity hires into the team and skill development.
  • Coordinate with advisers and support the career development of all team members.
  • Manage and balance work across team members and coordinate with others manager’s for balancing of work across other teams.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy team that enhances the effectiveness and capability of the Environmental Sciences Group.
  • Coordinate and execute workflow planning to contribute to technical group resource planning.
  • Develop and implement an annual plan for your team to aid in the successful growth of the team.
Project Management
  • Prepare and review written reports, compile and revise contracts and other supporting documentation
  • Manage and complete contaminated sites projects including: Phase I, II & III ESAs, soil and groundwater sampling programs, and/or contaminated site remediation projects.
  • Coordinate, manage and build business relationships with: clients, regulators, service providers (e.g., laboratories, sub-contractor) and third-party stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage: health and safety plans for field projects, coordinate field programs, prepare project contracts and agreements, complete sub-contractor selection and oversight and organize/manage field teams.
Learning & Development
  • Actively participate in the career development of peers and junior staff including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contributions to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related experience in the environmental science discipline.
Experience
  • Foundational understanding of financial and business metrics .
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Team management experience in an Environmental Sciences (or related) industry overseeing activities, performance, and efficiency of team members.
  • Committed to a culture of quality including a keen attention to detail.
  • 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related industrial experience as an environmental professional and project manager.
  • Proven Project Management experience and ability to work on multiple or complex projects simultaneously, build project plans, deliver the outcomes on time, schedule tasks, and delegate assignments.
  • Demonstrate dedication and motivation to achieve high standards in the performance of duties.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand business needs and maintain strong cross-fucntional relationships.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables and adapt to changing expectations.
