What's the role?

The purpose of this position is to assess regulatory and corporate requirements as well as industry best practices to develop and manage programs to maintain regulatory compliance including environmentally sound/sustainable product recycling and disposal programs.

What does the role involve?

• Prepare and submit all required permit applications and reporting.
• Develops/implements environmental/recycling/disposal policies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance with all environmental regulations and company sustainability guidelines.
• Audits recyclers and disposal vendors to insure current and on-going compliance.
• Evaluates the environmental hazards of any chemical products used or sold by Hilti Team Members to maintain sound environmental practices during the use/storage/disposal of the chemical product.
• Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding environmental/recycling/disposal issues.
• Manages the successful implementation of all environmental/regulatory policies/processes.
• Oversee/evaluates activities to ensure compliance with established policies/processes.
• Gathers environmental data needed to determine level of regulatory compliance and performance of disposal and recycling partners.
• Reviews, analyzes, and interprets new and pending environmental regulations and programs that could impact Hilti North America operations.
• Serves as corporate liaison with government agencies, customers, and organizations requiring environmental information, records, or services.

What you need is:

Required:

• Excellent management and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills (MS-Office)
• Strong Knowledge of EPA RCRA Regulations
• Minimum of two years Environmental Management experience
• Environmental Management or similar bachelor’s degree

Desired:

• Bilingual (English & French) preferred
• Master’s Degree - Environmental Management or similar degree
• REM (Registered Environmental Manager) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Material Manager) certification

Working Conditions: Office Setting, TSCs, DCs, HSs, Disposal/Recycling Facilities

Physical Requirements: Ability to travel and conduct training and audits at Hilti facilities and job sites.

Adverse Working Conditions: None on a regular basis but on-site conditions will vary.

Safety Equipment Required: Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Eye Protection, Safety Shoes Travel Conditions Varies: 10% overall
