Environmental Program Coordinator
CreativeHub 1352 is seeking an Environmental Program Coordinator to support the ongoing planning, administration, and delivery of programs, events, and activities.
CreativeHub 1352 is a non-profit, charitable, community-driven organization which exists for the advancement of community cultural development through the arts, heritage, and environmental sciences. CreativeHub 1352 is one of many groups vital to the reuse of the Small Arms Inspection Building, a historically significant site, owned and operated by the City of Mississauga.As a community programming partner, we deliver a mix of programs, projects, education, and events that foster collaboration, engage the community, and enrich people's lives.
Role of Environmental Program Coordinator:
Working under the direction of the Executive Director and Event & Program Coordinator, and with CreativeHub 1352’s Board and volunteers, the Environmental Program Coordinator will support in the planning, administration, delivery, and evaluation of a variety of programs, events, and projects for CreativeHub 1352 in the area of arts, heritage, environmental, and related creative initiatives.
- Work with the CreativeHub 1352 team in the planning, logistics, and administration of programs and events (Lakeview Farmers’ Market, Mississauga Summer Arts Program, Community Clean-Up Days, Mississauga Festival of Trees, Environmental Workshops, and more)
- Communicate with various event stakeholders leading up to events and programs, and serve as an onsite contact
- Establish and strengthen new and current relationships with environmental programming partners and stakeholders, including Conservational Regional Authorities, community groups, and others, with the support of the Executive Director and Director of Environmental Initiatives
- Attend all event and program event meetings, supporting note-taking as required
- Other environmental programming duties as needed
- Track programming expenses with direction from the Event & Program Coordinator
- Develop communication materials and community engagement tools to promote and report on programs through digital and print media
Qualifications
- High School or College Diploma in arts, administration, business, communications, environment, community programming, or related field preferred
- Experience with program coordination and design is an asset
- Combined experience and/or a willingness to gain experience in a non-profit organization and work in the cultural and environmental sector
Working on Sundays will occasionally be required at the Lakeview Farmers’ and Artisan Market located at the Small Arms Inspection Building. The successful candidate will work remotely with some meetings at the building. Access to a computer Laptop required.
Hours: May 15, 2023 to July 10, 2023 (inclusive), 35 hrs/week
Salary: $16.50/hour
