Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Liaise with regulators as needed;
• Support the team and assist with additional requests as needed;
• Lead on waste and hazardous material management on site (waste manifest management; inspections/ inventory/ measurement etc);
• Database maintenance and reporting data to statutory bodies;
• Lead key document and procedure updates; identify and manage gaps as needed;
• Manage intermediate-level projects on site;
• Assist in providing environmental advice/education notifications to site supervisors and
• Lead and/or assist with permit applications as needed;
• Lead on spill response and reporting as needed;
• Providing direction and support to Environmental technician(s) as needed (ensure tasks are timely; assist with troubleshooting as needed/etc) (various types of sampling, bottle inventory, QA/QC, chains of custody, monitoring, and inspections);
• Assist with the liaison with the community and key stakeholders;
• Field inquiries from site personnel, and respond with action plan as needed;
• Other duties from time to time.

• Assist with operating budget management, as well as PREQ creation (SAP) and tracking;

What You Need To Succeed

• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
• Good time management and multi-tasking abilities;
• Able to work in inclement conditions, sometimes with minimal to no supervision;
• Computer skills – Microsoft Suite and data base understanding;
• SAP or similar system experience;
• Able to manage schedule independently;
• Physically fit/able (lifting up to 50 lbs is common in this position);
• Trouble shooting/solution skills;
• Good communication skills;
• A Valid Drivers license, G, in good standing;
• 3+ years previous mine-site experience;
• Education relevant to Environmental preferred (college diploma or university degree);

• Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
