Job Description
Every person is unique, but we all have something in common: the need for safe, clean water. And it’s only by bringing together people with diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds that we can solve the complex water problems of our changing world.

At Trojan Technologies, we believe success for all comes from the contributions of every single one of us. That’s why we foster an environment where every associate has a voice, is valued and respected, and feels safe sharing their thoughts. After all, sharing our different viewpoints and experiences is what enables us to find creative and innovative ways to accomplish our shared goals.

Trojan is proud to be part of the Danaher Corporation, bringing water and environmental businesses together under the unified purpose of safeguarding the world’s most vital natural resources. Want to ensure the world has the clean water it needs? Then become part of the team that’s making it happen.

Position Summary

The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining leading edge EHS programs and policies for all associates within the NA Field Operations team as well as the piloting/warehouse facility in Cortland, NY. Supporting our associates in sales, field service, and project operations will involve around 20% travel regularly between Canada and the United States. You must be able to travel internationally between countries in North America with a valid passport. This role requires you to work with the Management Team in driving a Safety Culture which engages associates, improves EHS performance and supports the overall strategy of the Global EHS organization. If you have strengths in building positive relationships and problem-solving day to day, we’d love to connect with you!

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute action plans to continuously improve the maturity of the EHS program though the Danaher Maturity Assessment Tool
  • Ensure compliance with all Trojan Technologies policies and procedures as well as all Federal, Provincial/State and local government EHS regulations.
  • Provide EHS support to Field Service, Sales, and Project Engineering associates
  • Be responsible for WSIB/Workers Comp claims management; partner with HR, site EHS specialists and other functional leaders
  • Conduct field and site audits/inspections to enforce adherence to federal, provincial/state, and county regulatory laws, and Danaher policies governing occupational safety and health compliance. Look to educate associates in unsafe acts or conditions, establish associate/manager relationships, and pro-actively solving potential safety issues.

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

  • 5+ years of EHS experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or other applicable fields
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels
  • Working knowledge of either Ontario OHSA regulations or USA OSHA requirements (Federal and State)
  • Professional designation (CRSP, CSP or CRST) is preferred

At Trojan Technologies we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. We recognize the benefits of flexible, hybrid working arrangements for eligible roles and are committed to providing enriching careers, no matter the work arrangement. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. Additional information about this hybrid work arrangement will be provided by your interview team. Explore the flexibility and challenge that working for Trojan Technologies can provide.

When you join us, you’ll also be joining Danaher’s global organization, where 80,000 people wake up every day determined to help our customers win. As an associate, you’ll try new things, work hard, and advance your skills with guidance from dedicated leaders, all with the support of powerful Danaher Business System tools and the stability of a tested organization.

At Danaher, we value diversity and the existence of similarities and differences, both visible and not, found in our workforce, workplace and throughout the markets we serve. Our associates, customers and shareholders contribute unique and different perspectives as a result of these diverse attributes.
