Job Overview:

Provide leadership and act ambitiously to drive results for the Dunwin facility’s environmental, health and safety performance and culture!

Responsibilities

• Advocate the Business Continuity Plan management to ensure plan is accurate, up to date, and tested.
• Prepare and implement the Global Risk Management content and review with key stakeholders.
• Further embed Diageo’s Environmental, Health and safety programs and procedures in our culture.
• Knowledge in being responsible for a fire protection and security system is an asset.
• Verify compliance with all Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements and ensure Diageo Dunwin meets it environmental targets.
• Work as part of a hard-working team to deliver brilliant results in EHS.
• Implement and track proactive critical metrics in both Environment and Safety.
• Contribution to best in class Water, Energy, and Waste metrics and implement Best Practices across the site.
• Tracking and reporting of Diageo Dunwin environmental, health and safety metrics on a weekly and monthly basis, input into Enablon database. Ensure all regulatory reporting is completed.
• Develop and implement an innovative strategy to bring Diageo’s 2030 sustainability to the forefront of all roles on site.
• Hold the team accountable for closing actions in a timely manner
• Ensuring a safe, balanced, zero harm work environment, including compliance with all Diageo Dunwin, safety and environmental policies by all staff, contractors and visitors.
• Communicate standard methodologies in EHS to other sites.
• Be a subject matter authority for all minor and major EHS incidents that occur, act as a lead or mentor.

Management Responsibility

• Embed a strong EHS Culture among the entire site.
• Reports to Dunwin Operations Manager.
• Ensure all EHS regulatory reporting is accurate and submitted timely.
• Knowledgeable in Effective Problem Solving and use of different tools.

Experience And Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Science, or closely related degree, or equivalent work experience.
• In-depth knowledge of environment and or health and safety management systems.
• Strong leadership and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to win hearts and minds of co-workers.
• Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
• 3+ years related experience in safety or environmental experience required.
