Connect Transport and Region EHS objectives and programs with the Site system and processes and mobilize Site Management.

Monitor and analyze EHS performance, ensure standard reporting is delivered & accurate, and deliver EHS Management reports.

Monitors compliance to all relevant country statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.

Recognized Health and Safety Qualification to Diploma or Degree level

Environmental Qualification to Diploma or Degree level

Significant experience (10 years min) in EHS function in an industrial environment and/or construction environment

In-depth knowledge of environment and or health and safety management systems.

Prepare and implement the Global Risk Management content and review with key stakeholders.

Advocate the Business Continuity Plan management to ensure plan is accurate, up to date, and tested.

Verify compliance with all Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements and ensure Diageo Dunwin meets it environmental targets.

Knowledge in being responsible for a fire protection and security system is an asset.

Reports to Dunwin Operations Manager.

Must be familiar with the general framework of environmental management systems and compliance requirements;

Knowledge of safety and risk management principles required;

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with environmental regulatory requirements (including reporting);

Competitive compensation and benefits package;

Perform EHS audits, both on site and remotely;

Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification

Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.

Assist EHS Manager in administering EHS programs

Collaborate with local Human Resources Manager in the administration of Worker’s Compensation and Early Return to Work Program.

High School diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of related experience

Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes

Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

Preference to graduates with co-op experience, or master’s degree in science (M.Sc) or engineering (M.Eng).

Practical experience with industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety law.

Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.

Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

Excellent verbal and written communication with strong relationship management skills.

Participate as a management member of Joint Health and Safety Committees.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role.

Experience in the electrical/utilities industry a strong asset.

Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and safety act and Regulations for Construction Project.

Strong knowledge of other Regulations, e.g., WHMIS, Asbestos in Construction, Designated Substances, Smoking in the Workplace.

Be responsible for WSIB claims management, partnering with HR, OPS, R&D, and other functional leaders.

3+ years of EHS experience.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

What Qualifications Do I Need?

Ensure compliance with all Trojan Technologies policies and procedures, as well as with all federal, provincial, and local government EHS regulations.

Develop and execute action plans to continuously improve the maturity of the site's EHS program through the Danaher Maturity Assessment Tool.

Experience in worker's compensation case management

Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems

Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws

Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics

Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity

Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
