We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of New Business Development to join our team. As the key driver of new business growth, the Director will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new clients for the agency.

The Role:

Do you have a knack for critical thinking and breaking down business problems into solvable pieces? Are you the type of person who can spot a good business opportunity from a mile away? Do you have the ability to charm the pants off of even the most skeptical of prospects? If so, we have the perfect role for you!


This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong problem solving, communication and relationship-building skills. As the lead-finding machine, you will be responsible for identifying and working on the USA and Canadian markets for new leads and clients. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a track record of success in business development in a service-based business and a passion for the digital marketing industry.


Key Responsibilities:

• Understand key business problems for prospects and utilize your knowledge of business

and digital marketing to help solve them.


• Identify and generate new business opportunities through a variety of methods, including targeted outreach to potential clients through various channels, sales tools, networking events and industry events.


• Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at target companies.


• Meet income targets for new business through market opportunity analysis and planning of internal resources.


• Maintain a pipeline of potential clients and regularly update and report on the status of leads.


• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospect to close.


• Qualify leads and create proposals and pitch decks to secure new business.


• Develop and execute the operating new business development plan for the agency, in

alignment with the company's overall philosophy and strategy.


• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute lead generation campaigns as well as identify content to help support the sales process.


• Foster positive business relationships with prospects and ensure a smooth transition of new clients to the Execution team.


• Become a “face” of the agency, representing us at conferences, trade shows and speaking engagements.


• Possess a good understanding of businesses and possible prospects, including expert

knowledge of agencies and clients who live in our space.


• Display high energy, responsiveness, and the ability to empathize with potential clients to determine creative solutions that meet their need.


• Respond to occasional RFP's from prospects.


• Occasional travel to client sites.


Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a new business position, with an agency or

supplier that understands digital services in both B2C and B2B businesses

• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding new business targets in a consultative sales role.

• Knowledge of CRM or sales pipeline management tools such as HubSpot.

• Experience selling services.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

• University degree, preferably in business or marketing

• Knowledge of the digital marketing industry and current trends.

• High-energy and highly responsive, with the ability to empathize with potential clients,

and determine creative solutions that meet the needs of the client.
