Job Description


We are looking for 2 Data Quality Analysts to join our Data Quality Analyst team for a six month temporary term position


Reporting to the Associate Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing GB and GRS plan member data and determine why the plan member did not collapse into the Master Data Management (MDM) and Salesforce. You will also provide immediate support regarding issues with plan member’s data that has not collapsed to group representatives and other internal business partners. You will provide these services by living Canada Life’s Purpose, Vision and Values.


What You Will Do


  • Assist in the identification and communication of data quality roles and accountabilities across the division
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the risk’s data strategy that enables the most effective use of the data assets
  • Share best practices and play advisory role to Risk Data Stewards around data quality management
  • Partner with first line, other second line functions, and IS, to continuously manage the quality of risk data work with Risk Data Stewards to develop remediation plans when data quality issues are identified
  • Collaborate with all groups within the risk to ensure alignment across data functions and on target delivery of the group’s goals
  • Assist with increasing data governance awareness and capabilities across risk and the Corporation
  • Manage the processes related to risk’s data quality program and it's expansion. Support the identification of data quality issues for resolution
  • Ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, secure, and timely to support the mission and activities of the division
  • Define and report on KPIs to measure data quality, including creation of summary dashboards
  • Monitor data quality dashboards and where not in compliance, enforce data standards and policies across risk
  • Establish, manage, and oversee on-going processes to monitor, assess and improve risk data quality and reliability by instituting controls over data across the organization
  • Coordinate remediation of data quality issues with data providers and Risk Data Stewards and oversee data remediation processes to ensure data remediation plans are appropriately executed
  • Establish an ongoing process, metrics and targets to ensure data quality, and define and monitor measures through the life cycle of data


What You Will Bring


  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices of data management/quality
  • Play role of change agent across the organization
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of BCBS 239 Principles and their implications for risk data management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services industry
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of risk data structures and data flows
  • Your consent to a criminal background check and security screening for the Government of Canada Enhanced Security Clearance, at Canada Life's expense.
  • Strong data process management skills
  • Knowledge/experience of Data Quality/Management program
  • Demonstrated communication and change management skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with regulators
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline or other professional related qualification
  • Experience in risk data remediation and/or quality assessment
  • Highly analytical with innovative approaches to solving data problems; tenacity to identify the root cause of data problems is essential
