As the Supervisor, Crew Travel you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the Crew Travel department, People Management functions, and departmental compliance. This position maintains internal/external business relationships with a drive towards continuous improvement. This position also provides critical operational support when required.

What You’ll Do
Safety and Compliance

• Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’S)
• Ensuring all travel bookings remain compliant to the following:
• Report Occurrences of non-compliance on supplier/vendor contracted deliverables
• Collective Agreements
• Any other government regulation based on the company’s deployed base of operations
• Flight operations manual
• Crew Travel Process & Procedures
• Utilize the appropriate safety reporting program to identify and communicate all known hazards and risks to the organization.
• Pilot training manual
• European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) – Flight Deck

People Management

• Conduct annual vacation planning to ensure appropriate manpower levels.
• Payroll and overtimes administration.
• Assist Manager with hiring and mentoring Crew travel Coordinators to establish a strong knowledge team.
• Oversight and management of Crew Travel Coordinator schedule and shift coverage.
• Develop content and provide feedback for annual/semi-annual team meetings.
• Enforce and communicate established conduct standards in Crew Travel.
• Schedule, conduct and document initial coaching meetings with team members.
• Identify areas of non-conformance/non-compliance and report to Manager, Crew Scheduling & Travel.
• Conduct initial training for new hires, as well as recurrent and remedial training as required.
• Assist in the preparation of annual performance evaluation and reviews.

Policy and Procedure/Continuous Improvement

• Ensure Crew Travel Tools are kept updated including training checklists, daily checklists, etc.
• Provide subject matter expert feedback to management regarding Crew Travel procedures during negotiations periods.
• Review existing policy and procedures periodically to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Identify existing areas of improvement and provide feedback to Manager.
• Work with other departments to implement new project or tools.
• Develop new policies and procedures as required.
• Oversee and conduct.

Operational Support

• Provide support to the Crew Travel Coordinators during irregular operations.
• Identify operational risks and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Point of contact for Coordinators for after-hours issues and/inquiries.

Administration

• Liaise with other departments/vendors/suppliers to resolve issues, payment requests, and other inquiries.
• Investigate and provide feedback on supplier issues to crew, management, and/or other departments.
• Participate internal company meetings as required.
• Assist Manager/Director with contract negotiations with travel service provider.
• Resolve all internal and external escalated concerns with suppliers.
• Act as subject matter expert in all Crew Travel related matters and discussions.

What You’ll Need

• Experience in process development and maintenance
• Demonstrated experience applying collective agreement rules in operational setting
• Post secondary education
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of TTS functions
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Basic knowledge of regulatory obligations including the Canadian Aviation Regulations
• Strong Decision making and problem solving skills
• Have at least 1 year of supervisor work experience
• Have experience with operational recovery and conflict resolution
