Ontario Line South
Our team is mobilizing its design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
  • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
  • Stations:
  • A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)
  • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown.
  • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations

What you will do:
  • Works with peer departments to develop corresponding progress reports on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Ensures that Subcontractors Monthly Pay applications prepared by Construction are accurate in terms of quantities performed and activities included are already under executed agreements;
  • Analyzes the Monthly Project Direct Cost by comparing it with the forecasted budget, to identify deviations and proposes improvements/adjustments to upper management;
  • Prepares the Monthly Pay application with the client, with the monthly progress information mainly received from Construction and other departments;
  • Prepares and updates twice per year the Direct Cost Budget, managing the Cost Control and the Quantity Surveying teams, and reporting to the Project Control Manager;
  • Gathers information from departments to report the monthly progress of the project, putting together all the information and sharing it with the Finance Department;
  • Analyzes and resolves claims from vendors and their subsequent tiers;
  • Generates and implements the Quantities Take-Offs and the Direct Costs breakdown Systems and keeps them updated with the Quantity Surveying and the Cost Control teams respectively, with the information received mainly from Construction and other departments;
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
What we ask for:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong initiative, teamwork, and analytical thinking;
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent from four-year college or university
  • Ability to understand complex instructions or situations to effectively respond to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints;
  • Able to work in a multinational and multifunctional business environment;
  • 15+ years of experience on delivering big construction infrastructure projects as Construction Director or Project Director
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as contractual/financial documents and design drawings;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, follow through on commitments, and meet productivity standards;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office software;
  • Excellent knowledge of and commitment to safety requirements.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and understand the business implications of decisions;
