Required Qualifications

• Impeccable proofreading and editing skills, and writing experience in various formats including writing for the web and social media, news releases, speeches, and stories.
• Familiarity with School Messenger considered an asset.
• Ability to work with internal clients and various internal and external stakeholders.
• Minimum 3 years experience working with web content management system (CMS).
• 2-year diploma or bachelor’s degree in the areas of marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, and/or website content management or an equivalent combination of qualifications acceptable by the employer.
• Coach other Keyano staff to create web content.
• Search Engine Optimization experience, understanding of digital marketing/web analytics.
• Well versed in popular social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Minimum 5 years experience writing in a professional capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Accreditation with the Canadian Public Relations Society or the International Association of Business Communicators.
• Exceptional Writing Skills
• Knowledge of Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) legislation; formal FOIP training an added bonus.

As part of the Keyano College Marketing & Communications team, you will provide communication services to the College. You will develop and execute communication strategies for the web site in collaboration with the faculty of the representative department, with the guidance and support of the Manager, to promote programs and services with our clients.
Some Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Working with the creative services team to produce marketing materials for social media
• Taking a lead role in the scheduling and production of the content for Keyano.ca.
• Collaborating with Marketing Coordinators to schedule photo and video shoots with various internal clients and talent, specifically targeted for web and social media.
• Meeting with various departments to ensure web content is current and relevant.
• Copywriting and editing for internal clients.
• Researching writing and editing internal and external news releases, “good news” stories, speeches, content for publications and the weekly internal newsletter, Good Morning Keyano.

Advertised SalaryCUPE TS7 - $71,899.37 per annum and includes a comprehensive health and benefits package. This position qualifies for the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month. This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval.
