Commodity Buyer Jobs

We are looking for a Commodity Buyer on Hardware and Class-C; you will cover purchasing for both the Landing Gear Integration division and Systems & Equipment division, you will work with and for 5 different plants all over the world (Bidos and Molsheim in FR, Gloucester in UK, Toronto in CA and Suzhou in CN).

• Participate to the financial success of the LGI and SE Divisions by closely working with Program and managing cost reduction actions on the panel, by guaranteeing to share the right visibility on the opportunity and risk within the Performance tool, by anticipating the renegotiation and support new programs.
• Be in constant cross-functional position mindset and guarantee the knowledge capitalization.
• Manage a robust panel by tracking financial risk and market opportunity, by ensuring timely supplier payment and supporting suppliers when relevant;
• Reporting to the Commodity Manager, you will manage a purchasing volume of €5M):
• Ensure the expected and required contract coverage of the commodity with a clear visibility per supplier, per programs, per site;
• Update on time and with accuracy the ERP and tools deployed and offered to manage Purchasing within Safran LS;
• Organize sourcing activities (take into account carbon footprint reduction objectives, Reach transition), and develop the supply chain for new programs;
• Define the strategy of the commodity and ensure its implementation in collaboration with the counterparts of other direction;
• Intervene in support of the SPQL in the event of failure of the suppliers of the panel

Candidate skills & requirements

• Purchasing process leadership skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• You are autonomous, rigorous, persevering, curious and communicative; you know working in a transversal organization; you want to work on an international environment,
• Familiarity with Contracts, contract language and the ability to negotiate various types of contracts with suppliers
• A relevant University Degree and/or APICS, CPIM or CIRM/PMAC Certification.
• Experience in leading Projects within multi-functional teams.
• Experience with accounting and financial principles
• Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment and represent the Purchasing function within the Supplier
• French-speaker is a “plus”.
• High working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - managing and manipulating data (robust knowledge on Excel is required)
• Production control process knowledge, MRP and Flow Management.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, international experience in Aerospace preferred or in Mechanical Industrial Engineering; 5 years Purchasing experience
• You are comfortable with any tracking tool to manage workload and priority; you are happy to work on major long term project but have the capacity to be reactive with managing small and urgent need raised by the procurement. A strong customer-service mindset is key to succeed in such a position.
