Procurement Buyer Jobs

Our client, a manufacturing firm in Guelph, Kitchener/Waterloo region is looking for a Buyer to join their team!

In this position, the Buyer will have the opportunity to form relationships and negotiate with vendors across the world.

Job Responsibilities:

- Use of ERP system (Visual Manufacturing) to view demand and work order requirements

- Analyze MRP to generate orders and issue purchase orders

- Report material related issues in daily production meetings, escalate when applicable

- Establish, monitor and manage relationships with suppliers and internal functions, communicating demand schedule to suppliers, escalate risks with vendors and internal teams to propose solutions

- Resolve invoice discrepancies

- Work with all departments to manage inventory, investigating discrepancies as needed.

- Perform other duties, projects and reports as required

Experience/Qualifications:

- 5+ years in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management

o Experience with overseas buying and inventory control, an asset

- 5+ years in manufacturing environment

- Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing or similar

o PMAC Certificate, preferred

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with implementation and audits of ERP/MRP based systems

- Experience with forming relationships and negotiation with international vendors

o Ability to speak Mandarin, an asset

- Experience in ROP and forecast buying

o Lean concept methodology, an asset
